Birthday cake

After swimming, we came back and sang "Happy Birthday" to Emily
before she blew out the candles on the "pool" cake I made for her.

Party Time!

For Emily's 9th birthday party she wanted a "pool" party.
So, we started out with some food and then headed to the
pool for a couple hours of swimming and games.

Emily is 9!

Emily turned 9 on Monday! We had a family party Monday night to celebrate Emily and Kevin's birthdays. Emily was excited to get the roller skates with pink wheels that she was praying for!
I can't believe that they are a size 7 and they fit!
We are having a slumber party on Friday with 6 of her friends...
I think we have lost our minds!

Jumpin' In!

Emily and her class got to have some fun on the 2 diving boards at the pool on her last day of swimming lessons.

You could hear her squeal each time she went off the high dive!

Swimming lessons

Emily took swimming lessons again this summer at the city pool.
She just completed level 3 and is ready to spend the rest of the summer in the pool!

Visit with Uncle Nealie

Uncle Nealie came at the end of May for a short evening visit. Emily was very excited to have him over for dinner! He also got the pleasure of listening to Em practice her violin (haha!) and tucking her in at bedtime. It was nice to have him here!

Closing Ceremonies

Emily finished another year of Caravans. (A scouting program through the Nazarene Church.) This was her 5th year in the program. She was asked to carry in one of the candles and tell what it represented. The above pictures of the opening ceremony (with candle) and a picture of her Caravan class w/ leaders Becky and Terry Mayer.

The below pictures are of Emily talking about her favorite badge this year and receiving her perfect attendance medal.
